Possible Causes
Loose door latch screws, Worn door strike, Damaged door switch contacts, Warped door or tub frame
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before adjusting the latch.
- Tighten hardware: Check and tighten the screws securing the door latch and the tub strike.
- Inspect alignment: Close the door slowly and observe how the latch engages the strike. Adjust the strike position slightly up/down or in/out to ensure a firm engagement.
- Wiggle test: With the door closed and power on, gently press on the door. If the lights flicker or the cycle pauses, the latch or switch is likely worn.
- Replace latch assembly: Install a new door latch/switch assembly if intermittent contact continues.
Tip: Check that the dishwasher is level; an out-of-level cabinet can twist the door and affect latch engagement.
