Possible Causes

Leaking door gasket, Cracked sump or tub, Loose hose clamp, Over-sudsing causing foam overflow into base

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and shut off water. Place towels around the base of the dishwasher.

  • Pull out dishwasher: Carefully slide the dishwasher out from under the counter enough to inspect the base pan.
  • Check base float: Many JennAir models have a safety float or sensor in the base. If water is present, sponge it out completely and gently reset the float if it is stuck.
  • Identify leak source: Run a short fill cycle while observing underneath with a flashlight. Look for drips from the door, sump, hoses, or pump seals.
  • Common fixes: Replace a torn door gasket, tighten or replace hose clamps, or replace a cracked drain or circulation hose. If the sump assembly is cracked, replace the sump/pump assembly.
  • Detergent check: Ensure you are using only dishwasher detergent and not overfilling; excess suds can cause leaks.

Warning: Do not operate the dishwasher until the leak is fully resolved; water in the base can damage electrical components.
