Possible Causes
Severe clog in drain hose, Blocked air gap, Obstruction in sump outlet, Collapsed drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and remove as much standing water as possible.
- Air gap cleaning: If your sink has an air gap, remove the cap and inner cover, then clean out any debris.
- Hose inspection: Detach the drain hose from the sink/disposer and from the dishwasher (if accessible). Check for and clear any obstructions; replace the hose if collapsed or brittle.
- Sump outlet: Remove the lower spray arm and filters, then inspect the sump outlet where the drain pump connects. Remove any food particles or foreign objects.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect everything securely and run a drain cycle to confirm strong discharge into the sink or disposer.
Note: Persistent F9E2 after clearing restrictions may indicate a weak drain pump that should be replaced.
