Possible Causes
Failed vent fan motor, Blocked vent duct, Loose fan wiring, Defective control output to fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing the door vent area.
- Check vent outlet: Inspect the vent on the inner door for blockages or buildup. Clean with a soft brush.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the inner door panel to reach the vent fan. Check the wiring connector for secure fit and signs of overheating.
- Fan test: With power off, spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely. If seized or noisy, replace the fan assembly.
- Voltage check (advanced): During a dry cycle, a technician can test for proper voltage at the fan. If no voltage is present and wiring is intact, the main control board may be faulty.
Tip: Use rinse aid to improve drying performance, especially if the fan is marginal.
