How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the inner door panel.
- Inspect vent door: From inside the tub, check the vent opening for obstructions or melted plastic. Clean any residue.
- Access vent motor: Remove the inner door panel to expose the vent motor and damper assembly. Check for broken linkages or jammed components.
- Manual movement: Gently move the damper by hand (if possible). If it is stuck or binding, replace the vent assembly.
- Replace vent motor: If the motor does not operate during the dry phase and wiring is intact, install a new vent motor/damper assembly.
Note: A non-functioning vent can also contribute to musty odors; address promptly.
