Possible Causes
Water leak from pump seals, Loose hose clamp on sump or drain hose, Cracked tank or manifold, Activated float switch in base pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply. Do not continue operating a leaking dishwasher.
- 1. Inspect base pan: Remove the lower front panel and check the base of the machine for standing water. If present, carefully sponge or vacuum it out.
- 2. Locate float switch: Identify the anti-flood float or sensor in the base pan. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised position.
- 3. Run a visual leak test: With panels removed, restore power and water, then run a short fill cycle while observing all hoses, pump housings, and the tank perimeter for drips.
- 4. Tighten and reseal: Tighten any loose hose clamps and replace cracked hoses. If a pump seal is leaking, the pump or seal kit must be replaced.
- 5. Reset float: After fixing the leak and drying the base, ensure the float switch is in the normal (down) position, then restart the machine.
- When to call a technician: Structural tank cracks, manifold leaks, or pump seal replacements are best handled by a professional.
