Dishwasher displays E18; excessive steam or high temperature alarm

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the dishwasher to cool completely. Do not open the door if excessive steam is present until safe.

• 1. Inspect temperature sensors: Check both tank and booster NTC sensors for secure mounting and proper contact with metal surfaces.
• 2. Test high-limit thermostat: Verify continuity through the high-limit thermostat. A failed-open thermostat may not protect against overheating.
• 3. Check heater relay: On the control board, inspect the heater relay for welded contacts that could leave the heater energized continuously.
• 4. Replace faulty components: Replace any defective NTC sensors, thermostats, or relays as indicated by testing.
