Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Worn or broken door interlock switch, Damaged door strike, Loose wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting or removing the door components.
- 1. Inspect door closure: Check that the door closes firmly and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions preventing full closure.
- 2. Check door strike alignment: The metal or plastic strike on the cabinet must align with the door interlock. Adjust mounting screws so the strike enters the latch fully when closed.
- 3. Test door switch: With power off, remove the inner door panel to access the door interlock switch. Inspect for broken plastic, heat damage, or loose connectors.
- 4. Electrical test: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the door switch when the latch is engaged. If the switch does not close electrically, replace the door interlock assembly.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Refit the inner door panel, restore power, and start a cycle. Gently press on the door to confirm the error does not reappear.
- When to call a technician: If the control board does not recognize a good door switch signal, or if the door frame is warped, professional service is recommended.
