Possible Causes

Open or shorted drain pump winding, Burned connector at drain pump, Harness damage to pump, Control board triac failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when accessing the pump.

  • Access the drain pump: Remove the toe-kick and tilt or pull the dishwasher out to reach the pump at the bottom.
  • Inspect wiring and connector: Look for burned, melted, or loose connectors at the pump. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Test pump windings: Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across the terminals. Compare to the spec in the tech sheet. Replace the pump if open or shorted.
  • Check for obstructions: While the pump is out, inspect the impeller and housing for debris that could have overloaded the motor.

If the pump and wiring are good, the control board’s drain circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
