Possible Causes
Scale buildup on heater, Low water level, Failed circulation pump reducing flow over heater, Faulty temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the dishwasher to cool.
- Check water level: Start a cycle and then open the door mid-fill. Water should reach just below the heating element. If low, inspect the inlet valve and float system.
- Inspect heater for scale: Look for heavy mineral buildup on the heating element. Descale by running a cycle with dishwasher cleaner or white vinegar (no dishes).
- Verify circulation: Listen for strong spray action during wash. Weak or no spray indicates a circulation pump issue that can cause improper heating.
- Test thermistor: Measure resistance and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
If water level, circulation, and sensor are correct, the control board’s heater logic may be faulty.
