Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Broken door latch assembly, Failed door switch, Bent door strike on cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before working on the door assembly.
- Inspect door closure: Close the door and check that it latches firmly without excessive play. If you must push hard or the door pops open, the latch or strike may be misaligned.
- Adjust the strike: Open the door and slightly loosen the screws holding the metal strike on the tub frame. Adjust it so the latch engages fully when the door is closed, then retighten.
- Check the latch assembly: Remove the inner door panel screws to access the latch. Inspect for cracks, broken springs, or worn plastic. Replace the latch assembly if damaged.
- Test the door switch: With the latch exposed, disconnect the switch wires and test continuity while manually operating the latch. If the switch does not change state (open/close) correctly, replace the door latch/switch assembly.
Reassemble the door, restore power, and test. If F5 remains with a good latch and switch, the control board input circuit may be defective.
