Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float, Failed float switch, Debris in float housing, Wiring issue between float switch and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply.
- Locate the float: Inside the tub, find the plastic float (usually in a front corner). Lift it up and down; it should move freely.
- Clean around the float: Remove any debris, detergent buildup, or scale that may be jamming the float. If the float cap can be removed, lift it out and clean the shaft.
- Test the float switch: From underneath (with toe-kick removed), locate the float switch under the float. Disconnect the wires and test continuity while moving the float. Replace the switch if it does not open/close properly.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the float switch to the control board for damage or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
After cleaning or replacing parts, restore power and run a fill cycle to confirm proper operation.
