Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker immediately to prevent overheating or fire risk.
Initial inspection:
- After the unit cools, remove the lower access panel and visually inspect the heating element under the tub for discoloration, cracks, or signs of arcing.
- Check wiring to the heater for melted insulation or burnt connectors.
Component checks (for qualified users):
- With power off and wires disconnected, test the heating element with a multimeter for continuity and shorts to ground. Replace if shorted or open.
- Inspect the thermistor wiring and sensor as in F3E1; a failed sensor can cause overheating.
If heater and sensor are OK:
- The heater relay on the main control may be stuck closed. Replace the main control board.
Do not continue using the dishwasher until the overheating issue is resolved.
