Improper Water Level / Fill Siphoning
Dishwasher fills with water but then quickly drains or does not circulate; may show a fill error or low water level fault.

Possible Causes
Drain hose installed too low causing siphoning, air gap or disposal connection misrouted, faulty water level sensing in control, partially blocked fill path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power before working under the sink or behind the dishwasher.
Check drain hose installation:
- Verify the drain hose has a high loop at least 20 inches above the floor or is connected to an air gap as per KitchenAid installation instructions.
- If the hose runs directly downward to the drain or disposal, raise it and secure it to the underside of the countertop.
Inspect for cross-connection:
- Ensure the drain hose is not connected to a low floor drain or sump that can siphon water out.
- Check the air gap (if present) for blockages and clean it.
Test operation:
- After correcting hose routing, run a fill and wash cycle. If the unit still reports low water level, the control or level sensing logic may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
