Possible Causes
Water leak into base pan, Loose sump seal, Cracked tub or sump, Over-foaming from detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug or switch off the breaker and close the water supply.
- Check for foam: Open the door and look for excessive suds. If present, remove suds and run a rinse cycle with no detergent.
- Drain and dry base: Pull the dishwasher out and tilt it backward to drain water from the base pan. Remove the bottom cover and dry the base completely with towels.
- Inspect sump and seals: Examine the sump assembly, pump seals, and tub-to-sump gasket for signs of leakage. Tighten mounting screws and replace any damaged gaskets.
- Check inlet and drain hoses: Look for drips at hose connections and replace cracked hoses or tighten clamps.
After repairs, run a test cycle while observing the base for new leaks. If no leak is visible but AE/E1 returns, the leak sensor / float switch may be faulty.
