Possible Causes
Circulation pump drawing excessive current, Motor windings partially shorted, Jammed impeller, Faulty inverter circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off water supply.
- Check for mechanical jams: Remove lower rack and spray arm, then inspect the sump area for debris that could restrict the circulation pump. Remove any obstructions.
- Inspect circulation pump: Access the underside of the dishwasher and locate the wash motor / circulation pump. Check for signs of overheating (burnt smell, discoloration).
- Spin impeller: With power off, try to rotate the impeller by hand. If it is stiff or grinding, the motor is likely failing and should be replaced.
- Check wiring: Inspect the motor wiring harness and connector for damage or loose connections.
If the motor appears mechanically sound but CE persists, the inverter circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and will require board replacement by a technician.
