How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before testing heater circuits.
- Visual inspection: Access the underside of the dishwasher and inspect the heater element and wiring for burns or damage.
- Test heater: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater. Replace if open or shorted.
- Check thermistor: Test the temperature sensor for proper resistance at room temperature and replace if out of spec.
If heater and thermistor are good, the main control board may have a failed heater relay and should be replaced by a professional.
