Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off water supply before accessing internal components.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Remove the lower rack and spray arm. Access the filter and sump area. Look for broken glass, bones, or plastic pieces that could jam the circulation pump impeller. Remove any debris carefully.
- Inspect spray arms: Ensure both upper and lower spray arms spin freely and are not blocked by tall dishes. Clean out clogged spray arm holes with a toothpick.
- Access circulation pump: Pull the dishwasher out and lay it carefully on its back (with towels). Remove the bottom access panel. Locate the circulation pump / wash motor assembly attached to the sump. Check for signs of overheating or leaks.
- Spin impeller by hand: With power disconnected, try to rotate the impeller from the pump side (if accessible). If it is stiff or seized, the motor assembly must be replaced.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the connector to the motor for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
If the motor spins freely but LE persists, the internal hall sensor or the main PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the circulation pump assembly is usually the recommended repair.
