Rust spots appearing on the racks or tub interior.

Safety first: No electrical work is required.

• Inspect racks: Remove upper and lower dish racks and look for areas where the vinyl coating has chipped off, exposing bare metal.
• Repair small chips: For minor spots, use a dishwasher rack repair kit (vinyl paint and caps) to seal exposed metal and prevent further rust.
• Replace severely rusted racks: If many tines are rusted or broken, replace the entire rack assembly.

Rust on the stainless steel tub is rare; if present, it may be from external metal items and can often be removed with a non-abrasive cleaner.
