Safety First: Disconnect power before removing the inner door panel.

Steps:

Check dispenser door: Manually open and close the detergent cup. Ensure it latches securely and is not obstructed by the upper rack or utensils.
Access dispenser: Remove inner door screws and carefully separate the panels. Locate the dispenser assembly and its wiring.
Inspect wiring: Check for broken or burned wires to the dispenser. Reseat the connector.
Test dispenser coil: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the dispenser actuator. An open reading indicates a failed dispenser.
Replace dispenser: Install a new Maytag detergent and rinse aid dispenser assembly if the actuator is defective or the latch is broken.

Dishwasher displays service code 10-1 (or 10.1) indicating dispenser electrical problem; detergent door may not open.
