Dishwasher overfills or shows E2; water level too high in tank or wash chamber, sometimes accompanied by overflow into drain.

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when opening panels.

• Inspect for overfilling: Open the door and check if the water level is above the normal operating mark (usually just below the tank overflow edge). If excessively high, manually drain using the machine’s drain function or a wet vacuum.
• Clean level sensor hose / air trap: Locate the pressure hose from the wash tank to the pressure switch or level sensor. Remove it and flush with hot water to clear grease and scale. Clean any air trap or chamber on the tank wall.
• Test pressure switch / level sensor: With power off, disconnect the sensor and check for continuity changes when applying gentle air pressure (for mechanical switches) or follow service manual diagnostics for electronic sensors. Replace if readings are out of spec.
• Check water inlet valve operation: Ensure the inlet valve fully closes when de-energized. If water continues to seep into the tank with power off, the valve is leaking internally and must be replaced.
• Control board check: If the valve and sensor are good but E2 persists, the control board may be misreading the level signal. This typically requires a Meiko-trained technician to test and replace the PCB.
