Possible Causes
Dirty filters and sump, Standing water in low spots of drain hose, Grease buildup on tank walls and spray arms, Infrequent cleaning cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the machine to cool before cleaning.
- Thoroughly clean filters: Remove and scrub all filters with hot water and a brush. Ensure no food residue remains.
- Clean sump and tank walls: Use a non-abrasive brush and a Meiko-approved cleaner or descaler to clean the sump, tank walls, and corners where debris accumulates.
- Flush drain hose: Disconnect the drain hose and flush it with hot water to remove trapped food and grease. Ensure it is routed to prevent standing water.
- Run a cleaning cycle: Run an empty cycle with a descaling or machine cleaner product recommended by Meiko to sanitize internal surfaces.
- Improve ventilation: Leave the door slightly ajar when the machine is off to allow drying and reduce odor buildup.
