Possible Causes
Drain hose installed too low causing backflow, Partial blockage in sink trap, Weak drain pump, Non-return valve stuck open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when removing hoses.
- Check sink trap: Remove and clean the sink siphon connection where the dishwasher drain hose attaches.
- Verify hose height: Ensure the drain hose rises to the recommended height (usually 40–100 cm) before connecting to the sink drain to prevent backflow.
- Clean non-return valve: Access the sump and remove the non-return valve near the drain pump. Clean any debris and ensure it moves freely.
- Test pump: Run a drain program and listen for the pump. If weak or intermittent, the drain pump may need replacement.
