Possible Causes
Partially clogged drain hose, Restricted sump outlet, Weak drain pump on Monogram dishwasher, Blocked check valve in drain system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker and shut off water supply before servicing.
- Remove standing water: Use a cup or sponge to bail out most of the water from the tub so you can see the sump area clearly.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove the lower rack and filters. Rinse filters thoroughly and inspect the sump opening for seeds, glass, or labels that can restrict flow.
- Inspect the drain hose: Disconnect the hose from the disposer or sink tailpiece (place a pan underneath). Check for buildup or obstructions at the end. Blow through the hose or flush with water to confirm it is clear.
- Check the check valve: Many Monogram dishwashers have a rubber flapper or check valve near the sump outlet. Access the underside of the tub and inspect this valve for deformation or blockage that could slow draining.
- Test drain function: Restore power, run a cancel/drain cycle, and observe the drain flow into the sink. A weak or intermittent stream suggests a failing drain pump.
If cleaning and hose inspection do not resolve the C2 error, replace the drain pump assembly and re-test. Persistent issues may indicate a control board timing fault.
