Possible Causes
Stuck detergent cup lid, Failed dispenser solenoid on Monogram dispenser, Broken dispenser latch, Wiring issue between control and dispenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the inner door panel.
- Inspect the dispenser door: Open the dishwasher door and check that the detergent cup opens and closes smoothly by hand. Clean any caked detergent from the cup and surrounding area.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks or broken hinges on the dispenser assembly.
- Access the dispenser wiring: Remove the inner door panel screws to expose the back of the dispenser. Verify the wiring connector is firmly attached and not corroded.
- Test the solenoid: With power disconnected, use a multimeter to check resistance across the dispenser solenoid terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed solenoid.
- Run a test cycle: After cleaning and reconnecting, restore power and run a cycle to see if the dispenser opens at the correct time.
If the dispenser mechanism is damaged or the solenoid is open, replace the complete detergent/rinse aid dispenser assembly with a compatible Monogram part.
