Possible Causes
Open or shorted thermistor in Monogram sump, Loose sensor wiring, Faulty control board temperature circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the sump or control board.
- Locate the thermistor: In most Monogram dishwashers, the temperature sensor is mounted in the sump area at the bottom of the tub.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the thermistor to the control board for pinched, cut, or corroded wires.
- Test sensor resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the thermistor terminals at room temperature. Compare to Monogram specifications; an open or near-zero reading indicates a bad sensor.
- Reset and test: After reconnecting or replacing the sensor, restore power and run a short cycle to see if the E2 code clears.
If the thermistor and wiring are good, the control board may be misreading temperature and should be evaluated or replaced by a technician.
