Safety: Isolate the dishwasher from mains power before removing panels.

E02 usually points to a problem with the water temperature sensor (NTC) integrated near the heater or in the sump.

• Access the NTC: Pull the dishwasher out of the cabinet. Lay it carefully on its back (protect the floor). Remove the base cover to access the circulation pump and heater assembly. The NTC is typically clipped into the sump or heater housing with two wires leading to it.
• Check connections: Inspect the NTC plug for corrosion, moisture, or loose fit. Dry any moisture and reseat the connector firmly.
• Basic resistance check: With a multimeter set to kΩ, measure resistance across the NTC terminals (disconnected). At room temperature (~20°C), many Neff NTCs read around 50–60 kΩ (exact value varies by model). An open circuit (OL) or near 0 Ω indicates a failed sensor.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the harness from the NTC to the control module. Look for pinched, cut, or burnt wires, especially where the harness passes near the door hinge or base.
• Replace NTC: If resistance is out of range or intermittent when you gently move the wires, replace the Neff NTC temperature sensor or the complete sump/heater assembly with integrated NTC, depending on design.

After replacement, clear the error by disconnecting power for a few minutes and then run a test cycle.
