Possible Causes
Faulty door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken door catch, Damaged wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the door panel.
E06 indicates the control does not detect the door as properly closed.
- Check door closure: Ensure the dishwasher is correctly aligned in the cabinet and not twisted. The door should close smoothly and latch firmly.
- Inspect latch and strike: Open the door and inspect the metal or plastic strike on the cabinet and the latch mechanism in the door. Look for wear, cracks, or bending. Adjust the strike plate position if the door does not engage fully.
- Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the door lock assembly. Check the microswitch operation by manually actuating the latch and listening for a click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when closed.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the control module, especially where it passes through the door hinge area. Repair any broken or frayed wires.
- Replace door lock: If the switch does not change state or is physically damaged, replace the Neff door lock / door switch assembly.
After reassembly, confirm that E06 is cleared and the machine starts normally.
