Possible Causes

Inlet water too hot (above specified limit), Faulty NTC reading too low, Stuck heater relay causing overheating, Control module temperature calibration fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and allow the dishwasher to cool if it has overheated.

E13 is related to abnormal water temperature, often too high.

  • Check inlet temperature: Neff dishwashers typically require cold or up to ~60°C max hot water. Run the hot tap into a jug and measure with a thermometer. If above the specified limit, connect the dishwasher to a cooler supply.
  • Inspect NTC: Access the NTC sensor on the heater/sump and check for correct mounting and good thermal contact. Replace the NTC sensor if readings are clearly wrong compared to actual water temperature.
  • Control relay check: If the heater continues to heat when it should be off, the heater relay on the control board may be stuck closed. Inspect and replace the power control module if necessary.

After correcting the cause, clear the error by disconnecting power for several minutes and then run a test cycle.
