Possible Causes
Stuck-open Aquastop inlet valve, Faulty water inlet valve coil, Control board not closing valve, Debris preventing valve from sealing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately close the water tap and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
E16 indicates uncontrolled water intake.
- Check Aquastop hose: Inspect the Aquastop inlet hose for damage or swelling. If water continues to flow into the dishwasher when it is off, the valve is stuck open.
- Clean inlet filter: Remove the hose from the tap and clean the small mesh filter. Debris can sometimes prevent the valve from closing fully.
- Electrical test: With power off, measure the resistance of the inlet valve coil. Compare with service data; an open coil indicates failure.
- Replace Aquastop: If the valve is mechanically stuck or the coil is faulty, replace the complete Neff Aquastop inlet hose assembly.
- Control board check: If the valve is OK but remains energized when it should be off, the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
After repair, ensure the base tray is dry and run a test cycle while monitoring for correct fill level.
