Possible Causes
Burnt-out drain pump motor, Blocked drain pump impeller, Loose or damaged wiring to drain pump, Foreign object jammed in pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when removing hoses.
E23 indicates a problem with the drain pump itself.
- Check for blockage first: Remove filters and inspect the sump and drain inlet for obstructions.
- Access drain pump: Remove the base panel and locate the drain pump attached to the sump or base.
- Inspect impeller: Detach the pump and check the impeller for debris such as glass or labels. Remove any obstructions.
- Electrical test: Measure the pump motor resistance. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a faulty motor.
- Replace pump: If the pump is electrically faulty or the housing is damaged, replace the Neff drain pump assembly.
- Check hoses: Ensure the drain hose from the pump to the sink trap is not blocked or kinked.
