Safety: Disconnect power and water before accessing side components.

E26 is associated with the water softener system.

Check salt level: Ensure the salt reservoir is filled with dishwasher salt and the cap is properly sealed.
Access softener valve: Remove the side panel (often left) to locate the softener / regeneration valve and brine lines.
Inspect for blockages: Check the brine hose for kinks or salt crystallization. Flush with warm water if blocked.
Electrical test: Measure the valve coil resistance and inspect the connector. Replace the valve if the coil is open or the valve is stuck.
Sensor check: If fitted, inspect any softener sensor for corrosion or damage and replace if necessary.
