Dishwasher makes loud grinding or rattling noise during wash

Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching into the sump.

• Check loading: Ensure cutlery and dishes are secured and not protruding into spray arm paths.
• Inspect spray arms: Spin arms by hand to check for contact with racks or dishes. Adjust loading or replace warped arms.
• Check sump for debris: Remove filters and inspect the sump for glass shards or hard objects. Remove carefully with pliers.
• Inspect circulation pump: If noise persists, access the pump from the base and check for debris or worn bearings. Replace the pump if noisy even when empty.
