Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor, Corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and control board, Control board input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate NTC sensor: On many Panasonic models, the NTC is mounted in the sump or heater housing at the base of the tub. Remove the lower front panel and, if needed, tilt the unit back for access.
  • Inspect connector: Unplug the NTC connector and check for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins. Dry and clean the connector, then reconnect firmly.
  • Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure the NTC resistance at room temperature. Typical values are in the 10–50 kΩ range depending on design. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Check harness continuity: If the NTC tests good, check continuity from the NTC connector to the control board connector using a multimeter to rule out broken wires.

If wiring and NTC are fine, the control board’s sensor circuit may be defective and the PCB will likely need replacement by a professional.
