Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Broken door lock mechanism, Faulty door switch, Damaged wiring to door lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. Look for obstructions around the door seal or racks preventing full closure.
- Inspect latch strike: Check the metal latch on the tub frame for bending or misalignment. Adjust gently so it engages the door lock fully.
- Test door switch: With the inner door panel removed, locate the door lock assembly. Check that the actuator moves smoothly when the door is closed. Use a multimeter to test continuity of the switch when engaged.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the control board for pinched or broken wires, especially where it passes through the door hinge area.
If the door lock assembly is physically damaged or the switch tests faulty, replace the complete Panasonic door lock assembly.
