Possible Causes
Shorted circulation motor, Faulty motor capacitor (if fitted), Defective motor driver on PCB, Wiring harness fault to motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and water before accessing the base.
- Inspect motor wiring: Access the circulation pump motor and check all connectors for secure fit and signs of overheating.
- Check motor for shorts: With a multimeter, measure resistance between motor terminals and between each terminal and ground. A short to ground indicates a failed motor.
- Inspect start capacitor (if present): Some Panasonic motors use an external capacitor. Check for bulging or leakage and replace if suspect.
If the motor and capacitor test good, the motor drive circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require board replacement by a technician.
