Possible Causes
Blocked drain filter in sump, Clogged drain hose or sink trap connection, Defective drain pump, Foreign object jammed in pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and turn off the water supply before accessing internal components.
- Clean filters: Open the door, remove the lower basket, and take out the coarse and fine filters from the sump. Rinse thoroughly under hot water and remove any food debris.
- Check for standing water: Use a sponge to remove excess water from the sump and visually inspect for glass, bones, or labels blocking the pump inlet.
- Inspect drain hose: At the rear or under the sink, disconnect the drain hose from the sink trap. Check for blockages and flush with hot water. Ensure the hose is not kinked or crushed.
- Check sink trap spigot: If recently installed, make sure the knockout plug in the sink trap spigot has been removed.
- Test drain pump: Restore power and run a drain-only or cancel program. Listen for the pump. If it hums but does not evacuate water, the impeller may be jammed or the pump faulty and should be replaced.
