Possible Causes
Water heater set too high, Incorrect hot water line connection, Failed temperature sensor, Control board error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before service.
- Measure inlet temperature: Use a thermometer at the kitchen tap. If above manufacturer’s recommended limit, reduce water heater setting.
- Check plumbing: Confirm the dishwasher is not connected to a dedicated high-temperature loop or recirculation line that exceeds spec.
- Run a cold-water test: Temporarily connect the dishwasher to a cold or lukewarm supply and run a quick cycle. If 4C2 disappears, the issue is water temperature, not the machine.
- Inspect thermistor: If error persists with normal water temperature, the thermistor in the sump may be out of range and should be tested/replaced.
