Possible Causes
Closed or kinked water supply hose, Clogged inlet filter screen, Defective water inlet valve, Low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and turn off the water supply before working on water connections.
- Check water supply valve: Verify the under-sink shutoff valve feeding the dishwasher is fully open. Ensure no one has recently turned it off.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and inspect the Samsung water supply hose for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing. Straighten or re-route as needed.
- Clean inlet filter screen: Turn off water, disconnect the hose from the dishwasher’s water inlet valve. At the valve’s port, remove and rinse the small mesh filter screen to clear sediment. Reinstall securely.
- Test water pressure: Open the kitchen faucet; if flow is weak, you may have a household pressure issue that must be resolved before the dishwasher can fill properly.
- Check water inlet valve: If the hose and supply are fine but 4E persists, the Samsung water inlet valve may be stuck closed or electrically open. This typically requires replacement by removing the lower access panel, disconnecting wiring and hoses, and installing a new OEM valve.
