Possible Causes
Clogged sump area, Blocked drain hose or check valve, Defective drain pump motor, Faulty wiring to drain pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and be prepared for water spillage when disconnecting hoses.
- Remove standing water: Use a cup or sponge to bail out water so you can access the sump.
- Inspect sump and filter: Remove the Samsung filter and sump cover. Check for broken glass, bones, or labels blocking the drain inlet.
- Check hose routing: Ensure the drain hose has a proper high loop and is not pinched behind the cabinet.
- Test pump operation: During a drain attempt, listen for the pump. If silent, check wiring connections. If power is present but the pump does not run, replace the drain pump.
