Possible Causes
Open or shorted thermistor, Damaged thermistor wiring harness, Corroded connector at sump, Faulty main PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the sump or wiring.
- Visual inspection: Remove the lower panel and locate the thermistor on the sump. Check for damaged wires or loose connectors.
- Test thermistor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Samsung’s temperature/resistance chart. Replace if readings are far off.
- Check harness: Inspect the harness from the thermistor to the main PCB for pinched or broken wires.
- PCB check: If a known-good thermistor still triggers tE, the control board’s sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
