Dishwasher makes loud grinding or rattling noises during the wash cycle.

Safety first: Turn off power before reaching into the tub or sump.

• Check racks and spray arms: Ensure long utensils are not protruding through the racks and hitting the Sharp spray arms. Spin the arms by hand to check for interference.
• Inspect spray arms: Remove upper and lower spray arms and check for cracks or loose end caps. Replace if damaged.
• Check sump for debris: Remove filters and inspect the sump for glass or hard objects. Carefully remove any foreign items.
• Listen to pump: If grinding persists and seems to come from the base, the circulation pump bearings may be worn. Replace the circulation pump assembly.
