Possible Causes

Low household water pressure, Clogged inlet filter at AquaStop hose, Defective inlet valve coil, Kinked or pinched inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and close the water supply tap before working on the appliance.

  • Check water supply: Ensure the kitchen tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure. If pressure is low, contact your plumber.
  • Inspect inlet hose and AquaStop: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and check the Sharp AquaStop inlet hose for kinks or crushing. Straighten any bends. At the tap end, unscrew the hose and clean the small mesh filter with a soft brush.
  • Clean inlet filter at machine side: Remove the lower front kick plate if needed, access the inlet connection at the base, and clean any mesh filter present.
  • Test a new cycle: Restore power and water, then run a quick program. If E1 returns quickly, the inlet valve coil or AquaStop assembly may be faulty and should be replaced.
  • When to call a technician: If you hear the inlet valve humming but no water enters, or if the AquaStop module is integrated and sealed, contact a Sharp-authorized technician for replacement.
