Possible Causes
Mechanically stuck inlet valve, Faulty AquaStop module, Control board triac shorted, Debris in valve preventing closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the water tap and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
- Observe behavior: If water continues to enter the dishwasher even with power off, the inlet valve or AquaStop is mechanically stuck.
- Inspect inlet valve: Remove the lower panel and locate the inlet valve or AquaStop connection. Check for visible damage or mineral buildup.
- Replace faulty valve: Install a new Sharp AquaStop or inlet valve assembly if the old one is stuck or leaking.
- Control board check: If water only overfills when power is on, the control board may be energizing the valve continuously due to a shorted triac. This requires board repair or replacement by a professional.
