Possible Causes

Stuck or blocked pressure switch hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Inlet valve not closing fully, Control board triac stuck on

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close the water tap immediately to prevent flooding.

  • Remove excess water: Open the door and use a cup or sponge to remove excess water from the tub until it is just below the filter level.
  • Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean the filters. Check the sump area for debris that might affect water level sensing.
  • Inspect pressure hose: Access the base of the dishwasher and locate the small pressure hose running from the sump to the Sharp pressure switch. Ensure it is not kinked or blocked. If possible, detach and blow through it gently to clear any blockage.
  • Check inlet valve operation: With the machine pulled out, inspect the AquaStop or inlet valve for signs of sticking or constant dripping when the machine is off. If water continues to enter with power off, the valve is mechanically faulty and must be replaced.
  • When to call a technician: If E5 persists after cleaning and hose inspection, the pressure switch or control board may be defective and should be diagnosed by a professional.
