Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector at heater housing, Damaged wiring harness, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the appliance from mains power before inspection.
- Access the NTC: On many Sharp dishwashers, the NTC temperature sensor is mounted on or near the flow-through heater or in the sump. Remove the lower kick plate and side panel to locate it.
- Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is fully seated and free of corrosion. Clean and reconnect if necessary.
- Visual inspection: Look for damage to the sensor body or crushed wiring.
- Electrical test (advanced): With a multimeter, measure the resistance of the NTC at room temperature. A reading of near 0 Ω or infinite Ω indicates a faulty sensor.
- Replace if faulty: Install a new Sharp-compatible NTC sensor. If E7 persists, the control board may need professional diagnosis.
