Dishwasher stops and displays E04; sometimes dishes are not rinsed properly.

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before internal inspection.

E04 often relates to incorrect water distribution or a diverter valve issue.

• Step 1 – Clean spray arms:
  • Remove upper and lower spray arms.
  • Rinse under running water and use a toothpick to clear blocked jets.
  • Ensure the arms rotate freely when reinstalled.
• Step 2 – Check filters and sump:
  • Remove the bottom filter assembly and coarse filter.
  • Clean all filters thoroughly with warm soapy water.
  • Inspect the sump for foreign objects (glass, bones, labels) that could block the diverter or pump.
• Step 3 – Diverter valve inspection:
  • Access the sump from below (tilt the dishwasher back after removing the base cover; protect the floor).
  • Locate the diverter valve motor on the circulation pump housing.
  • Check for broken wires or a jammed diverter mechanism.
• Step 4 – Functional test:
  • With the machine reassembled, run a short cycle and listen for the diverter clicking or changing spray zones.
  • If no change is heard and E04 returns, the diverter valve or its motor is likely defective.
• Step 5 – Replacement:
  • Replace the diverter valve assembly or the complete circulation pump module (depending on model design).
