Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken latch hook on cabinet, Damaged wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel.
E06 indicates the control does not detect the door as properly closed.
- Step 1 – Check door closure:
- Ensure the dishwasher is level and not twisted in the cabinet.
- Close the door firmly and check for any resistance or misalignment with adjacent cabinets.
- Step 2 – Inspect latch and strike:
- Open the door and inspect the metal latch hook on the tub frame.
- Check for bending, looseness, or damage.
- Tighten mounting screws if loose.
- Step 3 – Access door lock:
- Remove the inner door panel screws and carefully separate the inner and outer door.
- Locate the door lock/switch assembly at the top center.
- Inspect for cracks, burnt contacts, or broken plastic.
- Step 4 – Wiring check:
- Verify the wiring harness to the door lock is intact and not pinched.
- Reseat the connector on the lock and on the control board.
- Step 5 – Replacement:
- If the lock mechanism feels loose or does not click positively when actuated by hand, replace the door lock assembly.
- Reassemble the door and test operation.
Do not bypass the door lock for safety reasons; always repair or replace it properly.
