Possible Causes
Defective AquaStop inlet valve, Debris preventing valve from closing, Faulty control signal keeping valve energized, Stuck relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately close the water tap and disconnect power to prevent flooding.
E16 indicates uncontrolled water intake.
- Step 1 – Check AquaStop hose:
- Inspect the AquaStop inlet hose for damage.
- If water continues to flow into the dishwasher when power is off but tap is open, the valve is mechanically stuck open.
- Step 2 – Replace AquaStop:
- Turn off the water tap.
- Disconnect the AquaStop hose from the tap and dishwasher.
- Install a new Siemens AquaStop hose of the correct type.
- Step 3 – Control check (if valve only opens with power):
- If the valve only misbehaves when powered, the control board may be energizing it incorrectly.
- Inspect the control board for a stuck relay; replace the board if necessary.
Always test for proper filling and shutoff after replacing the AquaStop to ensure no risk of flooding.
