Possible Causes

Defective regeneration valve, Blocked channel between heat exchanger and sump, Wiring fault to valve, Stuck valve plunger due to limescale

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap.

E19 is associated with the valve that controls water flow from the heat exchanger/softener to the sump.

  • Step 1 – Access left side:
    • Remove the left side panel to expose the heat exchanger and associated valves.
  • Step 2 – Locate regeneration valve:
    • Find the small solenoid valve attached to the heat exchanger/softener assembly.
    • Inspect wiring and connector for damage.
  • Step 3 – Clean and inspect:
    • Check for limescale or debris around the valve and channels.
    • Gently tap the valve body to free a stuck plunger (do not hit hard).
  • Step 4 – Replacement:
    • If the valve coil is open-circuit or the valve remains stuck, replace the regeneration valve with the correct Siemens part.

Proper operation of this valve is important for water softening and correct filling; do not ignore E19.
